Successfully tamed 9.3kg grouper, take home RM20, 000
Species of grouper and snapper, which was dominated Category Deep Sea Anglers Langkawi International Fishing Tournament (LIFT) 2012 edition, which ended yesterday. Participants from Jayapura, Dr Adnan Salam, 59, who raised grouper, weighing 9.3 kilograms (kg) was crowned champion LIFT 2012, bringing the cash back RM20, 000 and accompanying prizes.

Participants from Jayapura, Dr Adnan Salam, 59, who raised grouper, weighing 9.3 kilograms (kg) was crowned champion LIFT 2012, bringing the cash back RM20, 000 and accompanying prizes.

Participants from Queensland, Rosli Abu Hassan, 41, and Anuar Che Din, 52, who each raised grouper, weighing 7.5kg and 7.32kg was declared runner-up and third place. They take home a cash prize of RM8, 000 and RM4, 000 with accompanying gifts from sponsors.
Gifts presented former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

In the meantime, the champion won grouper species Anuar Che Din from Kedah to catch weighing 2.26kg, Che Azman species of snapper by Saad (Kedah) 3.54kg catch; species geropoh (GT) won by Amir Ali (Perlis) with 1.168kg catch.
Alu-High category was won Amir Ali (Perlis) with catch weighing 3.58kg. They receive RM2, 000. However, there is no winner for the Red category.

LIFT organized the first edition of BH in cooperation with LADA last for two days at Awana Porto Malai and with 400 participants including Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.
Among the major sponsors of this contest is TCE Sports Sdn Bhd (Daiwa), Adabi Consumer Sdn Bhd, Zulkifli Bhamadhaj (Farmer) and Universal Fitness & Leisure (UFL-Coleman) and Petronas Gas.

Langkawi: Langkawi International Fishing Tournament (LIFT), which harbored kicks off today, will be the benchmark in organizing the international festival on the island.
It voiced the Chief Executive Officer Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), Tan Sri Khalid Ramli, based on the success of attracting high-LIFT 2012, including from abroad, thus meeting its international status.
He said the success of cooperation LIFT LADA and BH 2012 Langkawi evidence of ability to host the Games global status.
"LIFT has been four years hiatus. Now it is not only more lively and brilliant in terms of participation, especially the presence of participants from Singapore, New Zealand and India, but also lucrative prizes.
